Meritocracy

I do believe in the idea that if someone works hard they could achieve the American Dream. In the video, the group of kids that were considered superior did perform the tasks that they were given better than the one's that were considered inferior, vice versa. I think the kids who were superior expected better of them selfs which made them live up to their image they were given. The one's who were inferior thought that they were already low, so why try? That has to do with psychological things, and with what your labeled. But, if the inferior kids try harder and didn't just give up because there was a "name" put on them, they would have just as good as the superior kids. People can achieve the American dream by working hard. It's like if you grow up poor, you think you not going to make something out of yourself so you just quit, and be average, or you don't think you can do it because your living in "lower class." But if you start out rich, and grow up like that, you would want money and wont stop till you get it. Just because there are labels placed on us, doesn't mean we have to live up to it.
