Trial case of Sacco & Vanzetti

              

                 Marissa Balance here on the case of Nicola (nee Ferdinando) Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti, 1921 trying to get the cold hard facts. Both born in Italy, and both migrate to United States. Bombings start to appear and people start to think Sacco and Vanzetti are a part of this because with the previous people who blew themselves up were with Sacco and Vanzetti days before. Also, I think it's quite suspicious how they were caught armed and at Bridgewater. Why would they have to lie about this? Well, they were one of the many people who didn't enjoy the United States going to war so that gives them something to lie about.
                  
              Evidence says seven eye witnesses are saying that they saw Sacco and Vanzetti in the bandit car. Also, one person said they clearly saw Sacco shooting out of the bandit car. Right about now from all of the witnesses it doesn't look too well for their case. But, theres a twist, none of the witnesses were certain of their identifications. So it's really 50/50. Another evidence that they are guilty is the third gun shot was fired from Sacco's gun but, tests say other wise. A lot more evidence was presented but i'm not going to get into that because i seemed to almost have made up my mind about the trial after reading it.


            Due to the trial of Sacco and Vanzetti people that have to do with it died, or people mistaken to take place in the trial. They died because bombing of their house. People were pretty upset with this trial, and clearly shown it with the grudge holding against the people prosecuting them. This kind of proves a point. If the two had nothing to do with all these violent acts, why are people out their (that probably have to do with the bombing) killing the ones contributing in the trial. 


          While they were asked questions, these men still pleaded innocent although all of the evidence is provided. Do i know they are guilty? Nobody knows. But, from what i’ve heard and seen all fingers point to Sacco and Vanzetti. Yeah, some things don’t add up, but some do. Like the places they go, and the people they talk to. If you ask me, i think they know how to hide things pretty well. But, not so well according to them being on this trial anyways. I’ve read more than enough to know if they are guilty or innocent. 

       Surely they are in this court house for a reason, and they know they are. If they are innocent it’s rarely hard to believe but i’ve come to my decision. I state Sacco and Vanzetti guilty as charged. My reason you ask? Hard cold facts, Sacco and Vanzetti had no alaby to present to this court. If they weren’t and i’m wrong then that’s thier fault for being at the wrong places at the wrong time. But, i highly doubt i’m wrong on this one. Yeah, the court isn’t too fair because they don’t know for SURE that they are guilty. When you look at it, it does seem to be right though. Sacco and Vanzetti from my point of view and from all of the evidence provided are caught red handed.

Scopes Trial.

      Scopes Trial is basically evolution vs. religion. It was illegal to teach evolution during that period of time and you could only teach what was from the Bible. This i do not agree with this. You should be able to teach both from my perspective. But i lean more to evolution because many people in school today have different religions, and some may get offended if your teaching a certain religion that they are not comfortable with. Yeah, evolution basically states religion is fake but to tell you the truth we wont figure out things and help people with religion. Evolution has to do with science and i think we can get places with science, for instance we can find cures that will save peoples life or even help the ones that are sick or injured. So, the more i think about it, the more i'm on evolutions side because well religion can't do as much. Also, if religion was taught now-a-days it'll be really difficult because all of the different types of religion developed over time, and it's not like we can teach everyones religion, we can only teach one. So therefore, i go with evolution because it's less complicated than religion. 

Organized Crimes. ♥

    Yes, i wasn't there to see the presentations on Monday but i did learn a lot about my person who was George Kelly Barnes. He committed a lot of crimes and got infamous from many especially for kidnappings. This man grew up from a wealthy family so you would think he would of ended off on the right foot, but instead he took a wrong turn. He even dropped out of college and thats when he got involved with the wrong people and the wrong business. But, apart from that, he was just a person like all of us. His mother died, got divorced, events happened just like it would for all of us. But he eventually got what was coming for him. He got arrested plenty times, and honestly thats where he belonged. I believe many people like him got involved because the 18th amendment passed and it was a fast and easy way to get money because many people wanted to drink alcohol and gangsters provided it.
                               This is what led to gangsters like Machine Gun Kelly.
     The Prohibition laws on alcohol led to the organized crimes. All because of this law, crime rates shot up.  Arrests for being drunk, Homicides, assault, and battery increased like crazy. Gangster's started to develop for example Al Capone. Al Capone ran many illegal businesses including bootlegging, gambling, prostitution and murder. A lot of people didn't have jobs and they needed to provide their families. Gangsterism was dangerous but it was a fast and easy way to make the money they need. The government thought passing Amendment 18 would curb crime and violence, Prohibition did not achieve it's goals. It lead more toward crime rates and violence with many people dead or sent to jail. Also, now with the gangsters in business and selling illegal alcohol SPEAK EASY's (illegal bars) were pretty much out of business. I guess Amendment 18 didn't go as well as they planned due to the organized crimes.

Prohibition passed and increased the amount of drinking.
Rum runners were people who smuggle alcohol.
Out with the drinking.
Henry Ford pushes Prohibition Amendment.
IRS were enforcing Amendment 18.
Bootleggers which were people who make illegal alcohol.
Illegal bars were also known as SPEAK EASY.
Transportation of alcohol was banned.
"Intoxicating Liquors" manufactured and sale of liquor was banned.
Opposite was true instead of promoting the nations health and hygiene, criminal activity and drug abuse increased.
"Noble experiment" didn't work out too well when violent activity went on due to no alcohol being present.

IN THE

Roaring Twenties was a time when lifestyles changed, financial excesses, and technology progresses.
Organized crimes escalated and notorious names such as Al Capone appeared.
Amendment 18 had prohibited the manufacture, transport and sale of intoxicating liquor.
Red Scares refer to the fear of communism in the U.S.
Inventions like the automobile, radio, and the first movie with sound developed.
Nation became urban and commercial.
Great Drepression.


Traditions stopped when new technology developed.
Women smoked, drank, danced, and voted. They were called flappers.
Established law was broken by many people who began to look for other ways of obtaining alcohol.
"Nifty" and "Nobody's home" is some examples of slang, it means great and describes someone whose dumb.
Techniques of architect allowed builders to construct taller buildings; first skyscraper began in the 1920's.
Immigrants in major cities created the feelings of a foreign takeover. 
Education was another important source behind the 1920's.
Society changed and brought many positive and negative changes in America.

 Dear editor, 


      Okay so, i know you heard of WikiLeaks, and how much it has cost us here in the United States and all around the world. I'm not really on any side, but honestly people have different ways on viewing this whole situation on whether they are all out for WikiLeaks because they hear about the information that is not getting to us from the Government itself, and some just think it's too much for them to fathom, or don't even want to deal with it in other words.
         
       The people who think WikiLeaks is a somewhat blessing. They think this because they do not want no secrets between the Government and us, people. These people want to know what the soldiers are doing, and how we are doing things in war. They find it that the Government lies to us, and they need to let us now what's going on because we live here to and we deserve the right to know. This is a good thing and a bad thing. 
  
      For those people who think WikiLeaks shouldn't exist. They don't like seeing our government bad, because it shocks them because we are suppose to be this big role model, and it seems like we never to anything wrong. But, we are wrong. We do make mistakes, and these people are just embarrassed. Maybe this was a bad idea because the Government didn't want this getting out for a reason, maybe that reason was to protect us. Who knows?


     From my experience seeing the video where innocent people were killed, and how the soldiers were joking around with killing whoever like a video game makes me think what are we in this war for anyways anymore. This is a reason it should have been leaked. It makes me and probably other people what we are doing is very wrong, and this should be stopped. Yeah watching this scared me a little, and i thought it was fake for a minute but that doesn't change what they did. They did what they did, and now it's leaked out. That's their fault and they can't blame anybody for it. 
     
        This guy Julian caused a lot of trouble, but also gave us the REAL information and let us see how everything really goes down. It may be illegal, but it's the right thing to do in some cases. Some people would agree and some would disagree. Like i said, many people have different views. My view is simple, i'm neither for or against WikiLeaks, i'm kind of in the middle. I would love to hear what your thoughts on this so called trouble making sites called WikiLeaks, i mean we all have different opinions anyway. Thank you for your time, and i really hope this whole WikiLeaks gets cleared up, also the soldiers learn by this leak that what they are doing in war right now is not right.

tone of the US declaration/German

   I think the tone of the United States Declaration of war was kind of a peaceful thing. They wanted people to have rights, and to be free. But the US didn't want to get involved in anything, but they have to because Germany was "messing" with the US, making them want to get involved, and doing things to tick them off. But no matter what i think the tone of the declaration is that they are ready, and armed to fight. They don't like to be in war, but if we have to do it, we have to do it. The German seem to be disappointed in a way. They seem to not be as good as the US well duh. But, they seem determined, like they refuse to not loose. 

IED's, "NO, DON'T HURT ME!"

A. You should treat these prisons not so well. You should threaten their life, and torture them in ways that will make them tell you. If you threaten them, and torture they will eventually come out and tell you everything they know. I just don't believe you should go as far as physical hurting them, just mentally.


B. If you mistreat them in the long term, they could become mentally ill, and or die. They might just think that they are already going to die because they are captured so they wont tell you anything, and you wont have anything to help you so all of it was a waste. Do torture them too much, just do it as far as something you do will make them tell you.
